CONSERVANCY OF THE PHOENIX INC

WATER, WATER, EVERYWHERE
BUT NOT A DROP TO DRINK!

75% OF THE PLANET'S SURFACE IS COVERED WITH WATER
ONLY 5% OF THAT IS POTABLE (MEANS YOU CAN DRINK IT)

COALBED METHANE DEVELOPMENT WILL WASTE TRILLIONS OF GALLONS OF IT WHILE DRAINING THE LAND OF THIS RESOURCE TO THE POINT THAT IT MAY NEVER RECOVER.

Ya'll know Mr. T. Boone Pickens? He's that Texas Oil man, entrepreneur, and philantrhophist. Now, I wouldn't say that boy wears a white hat (it's most likely a bit tan), but he don't speak with no forked tongue. T. Boone Pickens will tell you how it is and how the future will be. There will be water for you, at a price. Now Mr. Pickens isn't planning anything shady and he won't break the law. However, Mr. Pickens understands water rights, the law, and the fact that the commodity of the future is WATER, not oil. He is wisely planning to make use of his water rights resources to turn a profit in the future.

RECENT PBS TV PROGRAM
NOW
Hosted by Bill Moyers

The program subject matter was COALBED METHANE DEVELOPMENT. Within that program Mr. Moyers interviewed Mr. T. Boone Pickens about his plans to develop and market water from water rights he holds on his land southeast of Amarillo, Texas.

Mr. Pickens forth rightly explained proposals to build a 180 inch. diameter pipeline from the Texas panhandle to Dallas, Texas or further south. When Mr. Moyers asked how Mr. Pickens would market the water Mr. Pickens indicated he would develop the project to bring water to the area that would bring the best price for the water. Mr. Pickens explained the estimated cost of the project would be around $1.2 billion with a possible return of about $600 million in profit.

Mr. Pickens went on to explain a bit about Texas law, water rights, and allowable drawdown. Mr. Pickens also adressed lightly the future use of desalinization of salty water to obtain sufficient potable water.

Now just as a matter of curosity, where where is Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, et al, going to get water from after Coalbed Methane development has pumped the land dry. Can you buy it from Canada and pipe it down, or maybe Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes. Do you think they're crazy enough to sell you their water? Hey, you folks east of the Mississipi are not so safe either; your politicians are selling your water to the "bottled water" companies. (Take a gander at the "SAVE OUR SPRINGS" website)

This could give California a great chance to get even for their energy crisis. California can build a few desalinization plants and sell water at the market price. There is plenty of water in the Pacific. Now don't mind that the fishing and the wildlife will be gone; no water for them. Yep, water, water, everywhere, but not a drop to drink (unless you can afford it). That golf course is going to be one big sand trap.
